By accepting a remote connection to MyTechMate’s Online Remote Repair Service including diagnostics, upgrade, installation, setup, backup or other services on your computer from MyTechMate, you are acknowledging that you have read and understand these TERMS AND CONDITIONS as described below. AS NOTED BELOW, BY CHECKING THE “I AGREE” BOX, YOU ALSO AGREE TO ALL OF MyTechMate’s ONLINE REMOTE REPAIR SERVICE TERMS AND ALL OF THE SERVICE AND DIAGNOSTIC CONDITIONS AND FEES THAT APPLY.

Backup Data Prior to Service:

During the course of repair, customer personal data can be lost and unrecoverable. You agree and understand that it is your (the customer’s) responsibility to maintain copies of ALL data on your computer, and to obtain and/or make such copies and/or archives to external media PRIOR to authorizing MyTechMate to commence remote services for you. MyTechMate staff, partners or affiliates are not responsible for lost, missing, unrecoverable or damaged data that may occur during a repair/service session. By acceptance of this agreement and connection to MyTechMate’s Online Remote Repair Service you agree and affirm that you have made a backup copy, to an external archive, of any/all data on your computer’s hard drive that you wish to retain.


Payment for the MyTechMate services rendered is due upon completion of the repair by cash payment, or credit card (Discover, MasterCard, Visa or American Express) processed through secure merchant services provided by Paypal.

Services Terms:

 You have requested remote access repair service which includes repair, evaluation, diagnostics, upgrade, installation, setup, malware* removal, backup or other services on your computer from MyTechMate.  Note that at the conclusion of a remote access repair service session that is terminated by either the customer or MyTechMate, the data connection and all access between MyTechMate’s Remote Access Repair Service and the customer computer is completely severed and MyTechMate can no longer access the customer computer without the explicit authorization of the customer to make a new connection.


It is not our usual practice to access customer data. Any customer data temporarily archived by MyTechMate, either by customer’s separate service request or in the course of a Remote Access Repair Service, will not be shared in any manner or with any other entity or person, in accordance with applicable law regarding confidentiality of customer data.

Fees and Charges:

MyTechMate will attempt to determine, diagnose and repair/upgrade or service your computer via remote access for an applicable fee. Remote access repair services generally require a working broadband Internet connection to the computer under repair but can include voice telephone consultation services. In some instances, a successful repair is not possible due to unforeseen problems with your computer’s hardware, software or configuration. Under these circumstances, MyTechMate is not liable for incomplete repairs, but will forego any charges, or issue a full refund for any charges made, for that specific unsuccessful remote diagnosis and repair attempt.

Damage Waiver:

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, MyTechMate is not liable for, and you agree to hold MyTechMate harmless, from any and all damages, costs, and expenses incurred as the result of any loss, defect or damage to any software or data residing or recorded in your computer, whether incurred during the course of MyTechMate’s services or otherwise. If service involves transferring information or installing software, you represent that you have the legal right to use/copy the information and to use the software and agree to the terms of the software license, and you authorize MyTechMate to transfer the information and accept such terms on your behalf in performing the service.

Limited Warranty:

By accepting your order for service on your computer, MyTechMate warrants that service will be performed to the best of our ability. MyTechMate does not warrant that the service provided by MyTechMate will perform at a particular speed, bandwidth or data throughput rate.  All services with the exception of virus and malware removal are warranted for a period of thirty (30) days* at the discretion of MyTechMate. Virus and malware** eradication will be done to the best of our ability using the most up-to date techniques and professional software removal tools. There are no implied or other warranties made by MyTechMate with respect to repairs or services.  MyTechMate’s total liability to you for any and all damages whatsoever is limited to the amounts paid to MyTechMate for the services rendered.

Certification and Acceptance:

By clicking the “I Agree” box, I, (customer) agree that I am of legal age and am the owner or owner’s authorized agent of the computer or equipment for which services are sought from MyTechMate.  By clicking the link to launch the remote session, I will accept service from MyTechMate and acknowledge that I have read and understand these terms and conditions and agree to all terms and conditions stated herein. I ALSO AGREE TO MyTechMate’s ONLINE REMOTE REPAIR SERVICE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND ALL FEES THAT MAY APPLY.

* Virus removal warranted for 30 days only if a paid version of antivirus is active, installed and up to date.

** Malware is malicious software designed to harm or secretly access a computer system without the owner’s informed consent and is a software program or file that is, or may be, harmful to a computer user including a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code such as computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, spyware, dishonest adware, scareware, crimeware, most rootkits, and other unwanted software or programs sometimes known as a computer contaminant.
